Banksy - One Nation Under CCTV
Banksy frequently touches on political issues in his work. Last month a Banksy-style painting depicting two children pledging allegiance to supermarket giant Tesco appeared on the wall of a north London pharmacy. It was interpreted as support for the growing campaign to ban free plastic bags. He has also painted several works on the walls of Bethlehem, including one of a dove of peace wearing a flak jacket.

Louis Vuitton Canton Road Maison
The 5 Canton Road Maison’s design spells a novel note to illustrate the House’s legacy of travel culture and tradition of flawless craftsmanship through fashion and style-forward architecture. The transformation starts at the dazzling LED-screen façade, the first and largest (measuring 800 square metre) for Louis Vuitton Asia Pacific, created by renowned Japanese architect Kumiko INUI. The designer utilizes the Malletier’s iconic Damier pattern as motif to reincarnate a checkered-stone relief, overlaid by back-lit transparent glass squares to double the visual illusion. This is seen subtly to resemble a Louis Vuitton checker board taking on a different appearance during the day and night. At night the facade “dissolves” into patterns of light, thanks to the animating and illuminating LED lighting program.
This ingenious 4-leveled, 1749 square-metre plan also befits an array of firsts for Louis Vuitton Asia Pacific, prominently exemplified by the LED screens in store, the longest “bag bar”, the largest watch and jewellery salon and being the first with two private VIP rooms.

H&M Buys Cheap Monday
H&M said it had signed a deal to buy privately owned Swedish fashion company Fabric Scandinavien AB, maker of Cheap Monday jeans. They purchased a 60% stake in the company for a mere $92 mil. from the founders of the company, Adam Friberg, Lars Karlsson, Orjan Andersson and Linda Friberg. H&M also has the possibility to acquire the remaining stake within three to five years.
Fabric Scandinavien also run store chains Weekday and Monki in Sweden. “Weekday is an urban unisex concept with a total of six stores, while Monki’s 12 stores are aimed at young women. With their punk-rock style, trendy tight fit and affordable price, Cheap Monday jeans have become a hot commodity in recent years and are now sold in more than 1,000 stores globally.”
I just wonder how hot of a commodity Cheap Monday will continue to be with their group of hardcore followers.
Casulo Mobile Living
The CASULO concept offers a inventive and achievable opportunity to face the demands of mobile living… Considering that our society is becoming more and more mobile as a result of a fluctuating job market one must ask what the necessities are for people on the move and how their furniture should be designed. Flexibility and mobility have become key concepts of today’s working world and yet we continue to create our own barriers to our success and mobility. We take on obligations and responsibilities and obtain house goods far beyond what we really need. When it comes time to move we are aware of the burden of our increasing accumulations. We must overcome our fundamental ideas of consuming so that we can move and change. A change from our accustomed style of life to a more mobile one will mean overcoming our desire to accumulate goods and possessions. At first glance the mew mobility may seem restrictive and over economical yet the future generation will take the new style of life for granted and appreciate even more the increase in mobility, freedom and flexibility. Moving house is always a strain, a burden of time and expense. Even with several helpers the timing and planning, the transport an reassembly of the furniture is a strong man act.
