Momaboma's Paper Vintage Bags

Momaboma is an Italian company that creates really beautiful, retro, vintage bags. The bags are made out of paper from recycled glam magazines from the 1950’s and 1960’s and other material such as old vinyl records. The carefully-chosen paper is then processed with resin, polypropylene, vinyl and glue and the result are those really pretty retro bags.

Muji Chronotebook

Have you found yourself writing as small as you can, between two events, just to squeeze something in? There never is enough space between those rigid lines in a day-planner. This is why some of us have abandond our pencils altogether, and begun to schedule our days via iphone, and computer. At Muji, they have simply changed the nature of the day-planner into an organic process. Now you can literally schedule your day "around" a certain time. With Muji's recently-awarded Chronotebook design each page starts with a two simple circles, am and pm, waiting to let your day grow, rather than shrink.

Banksy - One Nation Under CCTV

The graffiti artist Banksy has pulled off one of his most audacious stunts - an enormous protest against Britain's surveillance society painted just feet from a CCTV camera. The guerrilla artwork appeared on a wall above a Post Office yard off Oxford Street in central London on Monday morning. It features a boy in a red jacket painting the slogan "One Nation Under CCTV" in stark white capitals. His actions are filmed by a policeman next to a barking dog. The secretive artist's achievement is made more impressive by the fact that the piece is several stories high - meaning he had to erect temporary scaffolding before slipping away unnoticed.

Banksy frequently touches on political issues in his work. Last month a Banksy-style painting depicting two children pledging allegiance to supermarket giant Tesco appeared on the wall of a north London pharmacy. It was interpreted as support for the growing campaign to ban free plastic bags. He has also painted several works on the walls of Bethlehem, including one of a dove of peace wearing a flak jacket.

Famously secretive, Banksy is believed to have only given one newspaper interview, although he has left various clues indicating he is a secondary school drop-out who was born in or around Bristol in 1974.

I already ordained it Simply Fab, but I think the Fendi Paint-Your-Own Baguette Tote may have just gotten Fabber. In celebration of the Fendi Baguette's 10th Anniversary, the Italian fashion house asked big names like Scarlett Johansson, Kim Cattrall, Marchesa designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, and Project Runway Season 4 contestant Chris March to each customize their own Fendi Baguette. The products ” Marchesa's has black and white hand-embroidered feathers on it ” will be sold for $2,500 each on eLuxury.com starting April 17, and the proceeds will be donated to the designer's selected charities.

Louis Vuitton Canton Road Maison

Louis Vuitton, the icon of luxury and an industry innovator in combining lifestyle with luxe, art and intellect, opend its largest Maison outside of Paris at 5 Canton Road. This represents an important milestone in the brand’s history, as well as reinforces Hong Kong’s position as the fashion capital of Asia.

The 5 Canton Road Maison’s design spells a novel note to illustrate the House’s legacy of travel culture and tradition of flawless craftsmanship through fashion and style-forward architecture. The transformation starts at the dazzling LED-screen façade, the first and largest (measuring 800 square metre) for Louis Vuitton Asia Pacific, created by renowned Japanese architect Kumiko INUI. The designer utilizes the Malletier’s iconic Damier pattern as motif to reincarnate a checkered-stone relief, overlaid by back-lit transparent glass squares to double the visual illusion. This is seen subtly to resemble a Louis Vuitton checker board taking on a different appearance during the day and night. At night the facade “dissolves” into patterns of light, thanks to the animating and illuminating LED lighting program.

This ingenious 4-leveled, 1749 square-metre plan also befits an array of firsts for Louis Vuitton Asia Pacific, prominently exemplified by the LED screens in store, the longest “bag bar”, the largest watch and jewellery salon and being the first with two private VIP rooms.

Stockholms Tunnelbana

The Stockholm Metro, or Stockholms tunnelbana, is the metro system in Stockholm, Sweden. The system has three main lines and one hundred stations, 47 of which are subterranean and 53 are aboveground (surface and elevated) stations. Stockholm’s metro is well known for its decoration of the stations; it has been called the longest art exhibit in the world. Several of the stations (especially on the Blue line) are left with the bedrock exposed, crude and unfinished, or as part of the decorations. At the Rissne station, an informative wall fresque about the history of Earth’s civilizations runs all along both sides of the platform.

Cassius Eyewear

Whether you want some Stunna shades, a Cazal replica, Aviators or Wayfarers we let the boys at Cassius Eyewear give you the ins and outs on why their steez is what you need. "Cassius Eyewear is the creation of co-founders Jason Ng and Kennedy Poynter. Created as an alternative to luxury branded eyewear, Cassius places systems of harmony and proportion at the centre of it's design philosophy. This together with the ideology that a logo should be intentionally subtle so that the shape and design of the frames themselves defines the look and feel, rather than the 'brand' itself. Their first range explicitly evokes scale of architectural proportion, the Bauhaus and the warped forms of 20th century structures - capacious and linear, mixing volumes and space. Their decision to launch their first range in the summer of 2008 at the United Tradeshow in Las Vegas, was received with overwhelming interest from overseas buyers; including France, Japan, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States - before launching Cassius in their native New Zealand."

H&M Buys Cheap Monday

H&M said it had signed a deal to buy privately owned Swedish fashion company Fabric Scandinavien AB, maker of Cheap Monday jeans. They purchased a 60% stake in the company for a mere $92 mil. from the founders of the company, Adam Friberg, Lars Karlsson, Orjan Andersson and Linda Friberg. H&M also has the possibility to acquire the remaining stake within three to five years.

Fabric Scandinavien also run store chains Weekday and Monki in Sweden. “Weekday is an urban unisex concept with a total of six stores, while Monki’s 12 stores are aimed at young women. With their punk-rock style, trendy tight fit and affordable price, Cheap Monday jeans have become a hot commodity in recent years and are now sold in more than 1,000 stores globally.”

I just wonder how hot of a commodity Cheap Monday will continue to be with their group of hardcore followers.

Casulo Mobile Living

The CASULO concept offers a inventive and achievable opportunity to face the demands of mobile living… Considering that our society is becoming more and more mobile as a result of a fluctuating job market one must ask what the necessities are for people on the move and how their furniture should be designed. Flexibility and mobility have become key concepts of today’s working world and yet we continue to create our own barriers to our success and mobility. We take on obligations and responsibilities and obtain house goods far beyond what we really need. When it comes time to move we are aware of the burden of our increasing accumulations. We must overcome our fundamental ideas of consuming so that we can move and change. A change from our accustomed style of life to a more mobile one will mean overcoming our desire to accumulate goods and possessions. At first glance the mew mobility may seem restrictive and over economical yet the future generation will take the new style of life for granted and appreciate even more the increase in mobility, freedom and flexibility. Moving house is always a strain, a burden of time and expense. Even with several helpers the timing and planning, the transport an reassembly of the furniture is a strong man act.

Randomized Your Wardrobe

A modular system born to enhance disorder, making it graphically catchy. Very often coming back home or in our room, clothes are abandoned where they are taken off infesting chairs, beds, sofas or anything useful for the purpose of heaping.

WARDROM is an object that invites throwing clothes as if it were a natural and instinctive act; wordrom is a vertical wardrobe for young and/or disorganised people of the new millennium, a modular flat wall accessory, made of semirigid PU macro-pils made to randomly house any type of clothing.

Garbage Pin by Ana Cardim

Garbage Pin is born of a definitely urban concept, the appropriation and reinterpretation of a daily use object: the garbage bin. It is a call to reflect on the current social paradigm that confronts notions such as “waste” and “valuable”, both relative and subjective concepts. It is a call as well for the innumerable problems that derive from a society of consumers; those of environmental and ecologic sort that lead us today to a future break with the current ecosystem. This is a project that originates several pieces. It isn't a unique piece but certainly a production series that prompts work in progress, where the idea of open work is also defended. This way, the pieces only acquire sense when interpreted by the users. The potential users of Garbage Pin are those who inhabit the big cities.
